can humbrol clear coat be painted onto the areas where i want to apply my decals?
If so how long would you reccomend leaving this to dry? Should i do the whole of the model? and then after it should i coat it with a matt coat prior to weathering?
Thanks

Martin, normally I sustitute the Humbrol's clear with Future. I apply it over the whole model and allow a day for it to dry.
I apply the decals, use solvaset, allow to dry another day and than do a "wash". The gloss coat of the Future allows the "wash" to flow more easily into the panel lines, around rivets, bolt heads, etc... .
Allow the wash to dry a day than apply a flat coat, then onto drybrushing and pastels. One final flat coat to finish her off.

Hi Phantom
Future is known as Klear in the UK. As far as I know the two are identical. :-) It's sold as a "floor-polish", but is actually a great acrylic varnish! :-) :-)
All the best

it also puts an excellent shine on boots, just take it over the leather with some cotton wool!

Thatīs exactly what I do. Just let the clear coat dry for at least 24 hours.
