Here is my latest build. It is the AFV Club IDF Centurion Sh'ot Kal '73 model. I built it straight from the box with the only addition being the AM AFV Club vinyl mantlet cover. I also made the fabric ID board on the right rear out of sheet styrene. I had no issues with the kit; it went together well. I painted it with Model Master Armor sand then added a couple washes of acrylic brown , ochre, and sandy colors. Lastly I drybrushed with the armor sand to tone down the washes a bit. Here it is.

More here.

As always, all comments are welcomed.

Hey Gino great Sh'ot Kal. I really like the finish to it the weathering is really subtle and accurate, sometimes it can be over done. Any thoughts on stowage ?.
Also sorry for all the questions but do you have any WIP shots?

Thanks guys. I had no problems with it, but didn't take any in-progress pics. I also forgot to put the antennas on before taking the pics. For now, I think I will leave it without stowage.

I think I can arrange for some more pics for an OD Feature.

Gino,
Nice Build. I am finishing up one of these myself. Couple of things that I can see that are "differant" from my references of the Sho't:
1. Watercans on the turret boxes. Never seen this done but who knows...
2. The WWII style anytenna mount. Again, I personally have not seen a mixture of the SCR type antenna mounts and the newer VRC mounts mixed on the same vehicle. Again not to say that it could not have been done...

It is a shame that AFV provides diamond mesh for the turret basket vice the correct square mesh. I also see that you got the headlight guards together ... I tried to thin mine and didn't like the results, so I made new ones from Evergreen.

Thanks for the comments John. I was thinking the same about the antenni as I was puttinmg them on. However, since it was a straight from the box build, I followed AFV's instructions on them. I also took a little license on the water cans. They were pretty nice and 4 were included. Also, from what I have seen, they will mount a water can wherever it will fit. So who knows.

Gino,
Trust me, I wrote the comments with a little bit of trepidation as I knew that it was an OOTB build. All that matters is that you enjoyed the build.

That's a great looking Cent, Gino. Did you get the manlet cover to fit without modifying it?

I second the comment on the water cans, but as you say, who knows? I've never seen it, but they did standardize the positions. The two on the BACK of the turret was one of the visual recognition signals for tanks that still had the Meteor Engine deck. Only other thing not mentioned so far is the older style fire extinguishers, but as an OOB build, I guess you're kind of stuck as they didn't supplu the correct ones.

The vinyl mantlet cover fit just fine. The only thing I had to do to it was coat it in PVA Glue (Elmers School glue) to seal it so paint would stick to it. I used superglue to secure it into position. Other than that, no issues.
