Hi at all,

i`m Interesting in this old Dragon Figure set and have put it on my list especially because of the weapons and arms. The way they hold the weapons are exact what iīm looking for my conversions on an LRRP Vietnam patrol. The weapons are for another Project. So does anybody have some pictures of these build or a review of them. I have searched here and via goggle but nothing found so far. I only want to know how ggod the hands and arms are sculpted. I know they are still old but some old Figure sets from Dragon like their Marine Recon set are very good and have very nice heads and well sculpted hands with fingers.

So for any help i would be grateful.

Greetings

Stefan

I have built this kit, and think the quality is as good as the US Marine Recon Vietnam set. The hands and arms are pretty good, in my opinion. I'll try to send pic of my built figures...

Hi Joe,

thanks for your replay. In the meantime i have ordered them and i am very surprised about their good quality. I was very happy as i opened the box and see the fine Detail. The hands a very well done and perfect for what i need them. Overall itīs really a great set and in my opinion one of the best set Dragon have done in the 90īs. Like you say itīs like the Recon set which is one of my favourite sets. The weapons are great too and a good bonus for me. I think itīs not worse than some of the newer Dragon sets.So all thumbs up for this set.

Hi Stefan

You're welcome! Glad to know that you like the kit. I do agree it's one of the best Dragon figure from the 90's. I have always like GSG9 subject, so when this kit was available back in 1995, I bought it without much thinking. I also have another GSG9 resin figure at 1/9 scale, by HKG Creation (no longer exist...).

Just curious. Is GSG9 still in existence? I saw there's another German commando unti KSK, and I'm not sure if KSK have replaced GSG9...

Nice talking to you.

Good evening Joe ,

The KSK (Kommando Spezial Kräfte) is the Military Elite Force in the German Bundeswehr. The GSG 9 BPOL(Grenzschutzgruppe der Bundespolizei) since 2005 the new name of the GSG 9 is an Antiterror elite unit. This is the only Police unit which can be operate in foreign country. That is the difference between GSG 9 and SEK (Sondereinsatzkommando) from the police. For Military operations the GSG 9 has no permission. Thats why the KSK was foundet in 1996. Hope thats help Joe. I see that we both love the good old Dragon sets. If you have any question i will be glad to help you. Itīs nice to talk to you too . I f i have a little more time in the next days i will make an attempt for a review of this set.

Have a nice evening

Regards

Stefan

Here are a couple of your pics. They look pretty good. The one guy in the rear looks a little "light-headed" though.

Adding pics from your Kitmaker Gallery is quite simple. Open the gallery in another browser page. Click on a pic and it will open bigger. Under the pic you will see a bolded type that says Linked Thumbnail. Next to this is a line of code. Copy this code and come back to the post page. Under the post box in a black box, you will see a series of links, one is [ img ] . Click it and you get the following (without spaces):

[im g]ht tp://put.ur l.here/im age.file[/i mg ]

Highlight and replace the http://put.url.here/image.file part with the Linked Thumbnail code and you are in business. It will look like this (but again, without spaces):

[im g]htt p://g allery.kitm aker .net/data/500/Dr agon_35th_GSG 9d.j pg [/i m g]

Remove the spaces and you get the pic.

Hope that makes sense. You can link a picture from anywhere by placing its http: code in between the image tags above.

Good luck.

Hi Stefan,

Thank you very much for the info on GSG9 and KSK! I look forward to Trumpeter's figure set on KSK Commando. But privately, I still not so confident with Trumpeter's figure.

Hi Gino

Really appreciate your comment and guidance! Yes, the sniper head is still WIP...

As you can see, I tried 4 times, and still failed to get the picture attached...

I copy/paste the long Linked Thumbnail code as below, but it didn't capture any picture on the page...What was wrong? Thanks again for your advice!
