OK, here goes. Starting August 14(as a random date I can remember easily), The Axis of Armor campaign will begin. All entries must be armor kits from the Axis powers of WW2. This includes pre-revolutionary Russia. Dioramas are fine, if you feel like your kit needs to be part of a larger picture. However, the armor kit must be the central piece. Entries must be historically accurrate. Numbers and markings must be from actual confrontations the kit would have been involved in. Of course, if you wanted to design a kit that was a casualty of war, burnt out hulls need not be number for the obvious reasons. Small descrepinses are allowed, but please no tanks for the year 3000 with a "what if a soldier fell into a black hole". Although that may be interesting, it would have to be filed under "sci-fi". I already have the banner made. Some links are listed below to help determine what kit you want to do and provide a reference for it.

Get to scouting your build for this campaign. And look forward to the Armor of Allies in 2011.

I think the correct place to put this is in the Campaigns forum.

I've renamed the topic, and moved it to the campaigns forum.

Hello Matt,
Good idea for a campaign. I would suggest a few things for you to think about:
1) There are a lot of campaigns starting and stopping during you proposed time frame, So you might want to check and see how many are running during your time frames and change your start/stop time
2) 5 months is not a lot of time to do what your rules say needs to be done to the model.
3) With the start time being Jan 15th, It does not give a lot of lead time to do research and getting all of the items you will need to do this campaign. I like to give the modelers at least 3-6 months lead time. You will get more people to sign up if they have time to think about it.
4) Make sure that your rules and regs are not to hard to do a build. Leave a little latitude for change as needed.
I am not trying to discourage you or your campaign, I have ran or running a few of them and I have found that being too strict with the rule and regs will get a campaign where no one will sign up.
I think that you might want to look at some of campaigns that are either running or done. That will give you a feel of what works and what went down in flames.
If you need any help, Please ask not only me , But other that have run some of the campaigns. There are a lot of experience here at Armorama about running campaigns. And please do not be afraid to ask questions about running a campaign, There are no such thing as a dumb question.
I hope this will help you,
Cheers,
Bruce

I would suggest August or later as a start date. Yeah, I probably have way too many campaigns starting in January.

I also want to clarify the term "judging". Campaigns are not contests. Anyone who completes the campaign gets a ribbon. I assume the judging means whether or not someone's proposed build qualifies for the campaign. Sounds like people will need to submit a proposal os what they are going to build to the leader for approval or risk building something that ends up not qualifying.
