after some reading i found the answer.

normal sand isn't perfect with the scale, the talk about baking powder

try mixing bird sand and cat litter
because their are always rocks n stuff in the desert
but then again it depends what desert
you have like real sand desserts but also rock desserts
dont know if thats the name but their it goes
