Hello, this is the AAVP-7A1 from Hobby Boss. Tracks from Friul, figures from Alpine, MIG Productions, Minimanfactory, Julius and HELO Miniatures. Stowage is from several producers....

Any comments are welcome. Thanks for looking

Hello Thomas,

really good job. Now I know where the bar is lying for my build.
I have the same kit and the Alpine figures in my shelf too and thought about doing a scene whit that beast beside a road. The gear stored in and outside the vehicles gives it a realistic look. And i love the dio base!

Happy modelling

Thomas,

congrats on a very realistic looking Dio, nicely executed and not overloaded in terms of paint and weathering, equipment.
Well done I like it.

My first comment is that this should be submitted for an On Display feature. Really well done.

The vairous color "pops" of yellow and red really draw the eye around.

Thanks for all your comments.

@arpikaszabo: For the interior color I have used Vallejo Model Air 71001 Matt White and 71006 Camouflage Light Green mixed in 8:2 drops...
But I think one drop more green would be nice

Really nice work. I like all the little details and the subtle weathering.

I was just wondering, what figure is the female sitting on the left side with both feet on the seat? I know the other one is by Minimanfactory.

Yeah, the girls are higlights...
The pretty lady on the left is from Julius Model, U.S. Female soldier ( Black Beauty ), No. JUF-002.
But I believe this company does exist not any more. I found this figure on a model exihition from a private seller...

Magnificent model, I especially like the "Sugar Cookie" effect you put on it. May I get the part number for the track set, I'd like to get a few sets of those, I am doing the same kit along with a Bradly I'd like them on. I think Fruil does two types of tracks for them, I'd liek to make sure the ones I get are the same as yours.

One more question, is Vallejo paint acrylic or oil based?

Charles, thanks for comments,
I have used the Friul ATL-79 tracks. It is the late version.
Vallejo is acrylic based.

Exellent Dio.
I passed up this kit at a recent show at a great price and have kicked myself ever since.
I'm kicking myself harder now.
On the up side, seeing the great job you've done,I am determined to go out and get it.
Very impressive.

Outstanding "TUNA BOAT" The colors, figures and base are beautiful. The vehicle camo is just right, not overdone.

What's your next build?

Looks great, but there are not many (any?) female Marines assigned as AmTrak crewmen or passengers on AmTraks.

Gino,
I don't know if there are any female crewmembers possible in reality...
May be an active Marine will know more about it.
In german army you can find female soldiers as tankcrew members.

But may be the AAVP-crew on my Dio has invited the two girls for a little party?
"Hey girls, come in, let's have some fun!"

All the guys in the dio look a little too serious to be worrying about that. Found this in a USMC Recruiting manual though...

"...all Infantry, Artillery, Armor,, and Assault Amphibious Vehicle Operations MOSs are closed to females."

@Gino: Now I have a problem, no girls as AAVP crew... I must remove the female soldiers to get a correct and realistic diorama.

But I like "my girls" and so I will leave them inside the Amtrak

Who says the girls would even have to be part of the crew, or even the infantry? I can see the smile on the girls face that's on the starboard side, see how the Marine is standing there looking all dissarmed? Like he's saying WOMEN! American women! It must be that Marines birthday. LOL
