I haven't been active on the site lately. But visit everyday that I can to see all the great models being built. Here is the latest gun truck build that I have just finished. It is of the Eve of Destruction. I built this one for the actual Driver of the truck and later became the NCOIC of her,just before it was chosen to be the only actual gun truck to be brought back the the USA and is on germinate display at the Museum of Transportation at Ft. Eustis Va.I built this one using the fantastic parts from our good friend Milo of Real Models. I made a few corrections to his pieces to build it as it was while Gerry was the Driver (1970 - 1971). Thanks Milo for your help on this one. Your castings are much better than my own.

Any idea why the gunmounts were painted red.

On another subject have you ever built a M39 series 5t truck .

The crews were allowed to paint up their trucks, so a lot of them had the weapons mounts painted.

I have never built the M 39 series yet. Do you know if any exist? I have done a few of the M900series trucks of the Iraqi war. Along with a lot of the 518th gun truck plt. trucks in Iraq.

Must be on crack or something...the first couple of pictures looked to me like the truck was huge and on display on your garage floor. Then I realized the small batteries and the scissors in the drawer. Very nice job......it will look great in a dio...............Al

Great build, Dave.Where did you get the carton of marlboros and the case of bud? Im a VN vet and most of us smoked and drank ,but today its not p/c to show cigerettes.but it is certinatly accurate
