Thanks for the review. I saw these down at Duxford earlier this year on the Treemendus stand.

The painted versions looked pretty realistic. I was considering them as a possible source for long grass as I have a large area to cover!! More thought required me thinks.

The same, or very similar, material can be purchased by the yard at stores that sell sewing material (like Fabricville, etc). Probably a helluva lot cheaper, too! I bought some to make tall grass, but never thought to use it for thatched roofs.
