This looks great and very detailed, but will probably be relativly expensive also.

Compared to the Mig M1114 offering, based on the photos, the only difference is the level of detail. MIG didn't have an interior, wheels or spare, antenna etc, but was still a nice crisp conversion set that I found fit very well.

A very welcome release! While the MIG kit was ok I found the fit too be dodgy in many areas, some parts were warped and really it was just too much hassle to try and improve.

This set certainly looks very nice, but it would certainly of had more of a 'wow' factor had they released it with the Frag 5 kit.

MiG Productions were kind enough to replace my kit several months ago as the roof was hopelessly warped and the A/C vents were very poorly done. The replacement was much better, but still lacking. Of course, as more references become available, so too do the kits. I don't want to pirate this thread with a littany of problems I had with their kit, so I'll post a build review of their kit (Iraqi Army) sometime next week after I get home. It will be followed soon by a review of the Legend conversion.

thanks for the update. the kit sure looks great. thing is, that every time I star a model which is not a tank i get bored and discouraged and i just put it somewhere and forget about it (happened to my stryker ). so as much as i like it, it's not for me

That is just what I was thinking, pretty much any 1114 used after late 2005 would be Frag 5 or Objective armored.

Instead of starting a new thread, I'll use this one to give a quick review of this new conversion set (thanks to Chris Mrosko of NWM for the gift).
The set is alot more extensive than the previous M1151 set released. There are alot of bolts (and I dont use this term lightly) that need to be placed on the photoetch parts. You will have to provide some plasticard for some of the assembly, but nothing that most modelers don't already have in their stash. There is a good amount of p-etch and the GPK in this set will be alot easier to build than the one in the M1151 set. A small amount of parts will need to be removed from the donor kit to fit the resin parts (front grill, engine access panel).
The parts are very cleanly cast, with no warpage, air holes, or short runs in my set. The grill fins are exceptionally done, with no resin boogers to mar up the detail. The turret details in the ceiling are very well done too.
This conversion set makes the MIG M1114 conversion paltry in comparison. I bought quite a few sets of those, and after acquiring this set, there is no way possible to compare one set to the other. Its that good and extensive, hence the high price tag. Every bit worth the price? I'd say so. There are enough little extras in this kit, all it would need is a couple of nice figures to accompany it.

The PE is also double thickness for the turret. This is not just a quick fix to give it a more scale appearance -- the protoypes are actually made of two layers as well.

And that is noted, in the instructions, so for those who pick it up, don't go scratching your head like I did. Thanks for the input Rob!
