Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Paul the mud splatter was done by flicking an old brush with short hard bristles. It can be done also by airbrush, I've done that in the past on other projects and that gives great results too.

As for progress I did some work on the figures recently working on the camo schemes on the fatigues, and I undercoated the scenery. I'm planning to get some more painting done on the scenery when I get the chance, and some free time.

Hope to have an update shortly.

Hi guys, just a quick update to let you know that I'm a little behind schedule on this project.

I was airbrushing the scenery at the weekend when I had a little accident. Sadly the scenic base was knocked onto the floor and dropped off my work bench when one of the table legs collapsed.

The result was the dry wall buildings smashing into a million pieces. I've been working on repairing the building, and have managed to get most of it rebuilt but is been a long and time consuming process. There are also lots of areas that will need to be filled and repaired with plaster and house hold filler.

In the meantime while I'm working at getting the building back to its former glory 'm going to push ahead on the BMP-2 project and focus some more time onto that.

Updates to follow once the glues are dried and the buildings repaired!

That's terrible news. I have had a few accidents like that in the past and when the disbelief passes you can only pick up the pieces and go on. I look forward to seeing the resurrected dio.
Cheers

Cheers Pat, it was quite a kick in the nuts when it happened. But once the dust settled so to speak the only option is to just pick things up and carry on.

Actually I'm pretty close to how things were before. Just a bit of patience and elbow grease and I should be back in business!

Thanks for the comments guys!

Claude your right! Actually sometimes the best damage effects are the random and natural ones!

Keep strong. Would have been much worse if you dropped the T-90

Ouch, sorry to hear that you dropped that diorama. Insert some metalic pins at the place where it was broken I suppose.. I hope it won't stop you finishing it, it looked nice and promising!

Dmitry, yes your right! Although I have done that before already and had to repair the T-90 (but no one noticed... hehe)

JB - thanks don't worry work is going on and I most definately will be finishing this project for sure.

Condolences on the base Jon but the times that the same has happened to me, it always came back better than the original ... the Phoenix rising I suppose - anyway, great build my friend, truly stellar!

So I take it that this experiment has ended? Maybe you just haven't looked at this project in a long time and so it fell by the wayside or maybe the damage was too much to overcome? Really sorry to hear about that, by the way. I found this thread and was reading through it, then I got to the part where you said your table collapsed and I was in disbelief! I had an incident like that too, ended up ruining the model too far beyond repair so I had to call it quits. If that's the case for your dio here, then it was a great run! If not, please let us know if you ever return here!

^^^agreed. The scene, and especially the figures had me fixed watching this for some time. I hope you haven't ditched it!
