Hi Guys,
DOes anyone know if the Germans wore the M40 shorts in Europe during the Summer time? Like Normandy?
Thanks

Well, to my knowledge, no they did not. However, I'm sure someone somewhere can find a photo of one German soldier wearing them...that's the great thing about the internet!

Hi Martin,
I would have to say that it would have been highly unlikely other than in a purely recreational situation. Southern France and Italy may have been a different situation but I would have to see photographic evidence to proceed in that direction.
