Hi guys, here another question
Have Humvees in the Current Afghan war been mounted with mini guns, where can i find a 1/35 example? I know academy has one but i dont think thats the right version.

I want to depict a Humvee like this, will this be an accurate combo?
thanks guys, calvin ng

for the most part only SF humvee's have had the M134 on em, during my most recent tour (08-09) i saw at least 5-6 of them as the lead gun truck in an SF "patrol". as for the Stan, i cant say.

Legends makes a set, although the later sets I recieved were less than stellar, and don't include the ammo feed chute. I received several of the Model Valley set (which Legends acquired according to my source) and they include the ammo chute. Some modding would be needed to convert to the butterfly grip or spade-type grip.

Check out this older thread (page one and two) and you'll find some excellent close up pictures of the mini gun mounted on a SF HMMWV. The close up pics are from our lost comrade Matte Black who's SF HMMWV projects were passed on to Robert Skipper AKA 18Bravo.

Hope that helps.

EDIT:Bill, on the first page i see some pics that look like special forces Humvees, These are SF guys in the pic right? Rob told me that special forces ususally wore what PMC's did. Can someone please tell me what uniform they are wearing and what figures i could convert them into this?

You'll have to put up smoke signals, 18Bravo could be anywhere!
Good luck and post your progress, I could use a good HMMWV blog about now.

I think i can get a blog going soon, like around thanksgiving holiday, but i need some time to source references and details that is, The Humvees driven by the Rangers in Modern warfare 2 inspired me to build more . About the mini gun, i found out that there are one or two in Academy's and Dragon's Huey Helicopter kits.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Legend revamps their Mini-gun and makes it HMMWV specific.
