Did the Germans ever capture and use American "dragon wagons" to pull their damaged tanks

At the risk of jumping out there - I don't recollect any US Dragon Wagon being captured and enlisted by those bad guys...

Also - stay away from the Israeli myth too...

I'll have to second Gunnie's statement. With all the info I have on the M25/M26 Dragon Wagon, nothing is mentioned of such an incidence.

I must agree with the above - no reference material showed that a "dragon wagon" was captured and used by the Germans.

You never know though. It might of happened but wasn't recorded, or the record was lost of destroyed.

Who knows, that would make a pretty cool model though. A Dragon Wagon and a Panzer 4.

just because we dont know wether it happened or not doesnt mean we cant do it. Point to note though is that the germans tended to put lots of swasticas and other markings on captured vehicles (far more than on their own kit) to avoid a blue on blue situation. I think it would make for an interesting dio.

If you want to put a German tank on a Dragon Wagon you can sure do that. I'm sure I've read that the Americans hauled German tanks off the field on a regular basis.

I too believe that no Dragon Wagon was captured, as they went to the soft skin version after they found out that sinc ethe army was moving so fast they never really had to recover vehciles under fire...at least not as heavy as had been thought.

And there is a very famous set of pics showing a Dragon Wagon hauling off a panther as well.

But, I say have fun and do what you want. If you want it to be a turncoat vehicle...so be it.

Nah, it probably never happened. If it had DML would have made one with German makings by now. Goodness knows they've made every OTHER German vehicle.

I have seen several pictures of Dragon Wagons carrying German tanks up to a Panther in size. All still had US markings and the crew was wearing US gear, so diorama that. Germans wouldn't have had the opprtunity and I don't think they would have bothered
