Hi everyone, I had a quick question about the commanders shields on modern Russian tanks.

I know they are used on T-72's but I wonder if anyone knows if they are used on T-90's also?

I haven't seen it. IIRC, T-90's NSVT can be operated from within the tank, if it is the case, there's no use for the shield, I think. Best regards.

I thought that might be the case. I havent seen any photos of it either. Good point about the NVST as well, I wasn't aware of that.

T-80B has the Remotly operated AAMG AND the commanders shield, so I do not think that disqualifies it.

I have not seen a T-90 with the shield though.

I have ordered a Russian language reference book on the T-90 that has loads of photos so I will check those and try to get some answers there maybe.

If it is the Tankomaster book by Suvorov, I already have it, there are no T-90 with such shield. There are very nice pics, but no detail pics or drawings (at least not like WWP's T-72 book). Best regards.

I'm suprised that it doesn't have detail photos, thats a shame! Never mind!
