Does anyone make a good WW2 US tank commander positioned where he could be shooting the 50 cal from his position. I would prefer desert clothing for the el alamein campaign. I dont really care if it is resin or plastic, i am just looking for one shooting his machine gun

I don't know of one particularly for the purpose you mention, but Steve Zaloga used the .50 cal gunner from Tamiyas old 'US heavy weapons set' in a M4 (I think) in the desert. He was positioned low in the hatch as if using it in the AA role, and with a new resin head and some TLC looked quite good.
There are probably better options out there but that could be one way to go.

Were the Americans involved at the time of El Alamein? I thought they arrived later in the conflict, more towards the end of the fighting in North Africa.

Hello,
I remeber a figure looking like what you are descripting.
Maybe you can have a look at the warrior ran ge of figure.
And Alan, you're right, there were no american in Alamein, they only took part in the north african campaign as from November 1942, operation Torch, were they landed in Oran, Alger and Casablanca were they fought the Vichy governement. After that most of the french troops in Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia joined the anglo american to fight towards tunisia.
Best,
Julien

Warriors had a tank crew with the commander firing the 50 cal but I believe it is out of production. The set was number 35082 and it was referred to as "US Tank Crew Summer Dress" and it might be more late in war than what you wanted.
