Does anyone know of anywhere I can find photos of French Vineyards circa 1930s-1940s ? I've been hunting for weeks but can only find modern stuff.
I'm primarily looking for photos of the buildings, equipment that would be found in and around the buildings and the layouts of the vines etc.

Hi Dean,
check this That's a postcards selling website and it's a great resource for old French stuff.
Now honestly, I doubt there would be MUCH difference in the layout of the vineyards between now and 100 years ago. Old buildings are still in use etc.
The major difference I would see is that you would probably find for weed at the base of the grape plants because they didn't use so much de-weed-processes then.

Thanks guys. The area I live in is a wine growing area so I'm fortunate enough to be able to use the buildings as reference as some are pre WWII but unfortunately most have been modernized and fining out what sort of setup was typical around 1944 is a bit harder.
Would one of you be kind enough to tell me what this says ?
Localisation France ; Alsace ; Haut-Rhin ; Riquewihr
Edifice Maison dite Nid de Cigognes, dite aussi Maison du Vigneron ou Maison Liebrich ou A. Preiss

first one means this:
, for the exact location type Riquewihr in google maps.
second one means that:
'name of the house: "stork's nest" or "liebrich house" or "vineyard house" or "A Preiss" '

Thanks heaps for those, that helps a lot.
I'm planning on getting several of the Mk35 things including the new tractor as it's just what I've been looking for.
