Hi All,
I want to start making dioramas, I have 1/35 models. How do you measure out the correct or accurate dimensions of a building ?
Thanks
Mike

Rulers in various scales(including 1/35) are available in better hobby shops.

Hi Michael. Donīt get too caught-up on correct sizes and measurements for buildings. Use a suitable scale figure and choose suitable measurements after that. Your eye will tell you if its near enough. Get some ref images for architecture and ideas ..... not many buildings follow the exact same standard.

Mike,
First you start with a simple scale calculator like scalecalc, downloadable here
http://www.greatlakesmodeling.com/tips/computer_biulding_aids.htm,
then, you use common sense, that's all.
What i mean is, how high is a door, a window, nothing or little has changed all this years,
the space betwen windows , taking into account a normal height of floors, is easyly calculable.
For me it is very important that it must please the eye!
Start also with a little drawing in the exact dimensions as you want to build, then put a figure near it and see if it works.
Just start with it!
Cheers
Claude
Edit. While i typed slowly my message, Franck essentially told you already the same

Hello Michael,
you can use the architectural paper models as plans .Inel have a lot of them for free. For sample this:
http://sites.estvideo.net/suzyland/Archikit/index.html
but you can find dozens writing in google searching windor architerctural paper models free
you can print the model and ajust the size at 1/35 scale. in this sample every measure must be multiplied by 100 and divided for 35
hope that this helps

Hey Micheal,
I agree with Frank.
I always use a figure that is standing straight and this gives you the correct size for doors, windows, etc.

I usually just hold a 1/35 figure up against whatever template I am making the the building...
Low tech but most of the time it works!
