Hello my Fellow plastic glue sniffers (joke)
Iam trying to build a BMP 2 .. in other words I rebuilding it to make it right.
now I need your help ....
What is this?
I cut if of fto rebuild it, but now I really want to know what it is...

Oh and oliver? Its your fault Iam building 1, because I read your buildinglog about the bmp2+aef set.

But are you sure? because in my osprey en concord books, the fuel imput is sits in between the rear hatches and behind the turret. (picture soon)

We had some misunderstanding there: It was funny, my comment was intended to make it even funnier by suggesting that I'm notorious glue sniffer and due to this fact I don't get the joke!

Ive have this little thing from modelpoint but no instruction where to put it
Iam a Nam-era builder so Iam not a expert on modern russian..
That why the questions, But there nice looking kits en fun to do a full rebuild.

I have no knowledge on this but could it be an armoured electrical point, or a connection point for some kind of sensor?

Could this have something to do with the NBC overpressure system (a kind of valve ?) ? There's a quite similar device on the BMP-1 hull top. In both cases it's located near the NBC filter cover...
Here it is on a BMP-1 (just between the turret ring and the commander's hatch) :

But maybe you should keep the beer case for the time being...I believe the "hatch locking device" is a different item that should logically be located very close to the said hatch
I'm still inclined to favour an overpressure valve of some sort...

Here's what I've just found in a BMP-1 drawing from a Russian manual : this part is called "люк циклон-эжектора прибора" which could mean "cyclone ejector hatch unit" according to my friend Google
Maybe one of our Russian-speaking experts could give a better translation, but to me it has indeed something to do with overpressure

The "hatch locking device" is a patr of the hatch.
if you want I will describe you all external devices.
Im not sure if its known that the colors of tubes in engine block mean the type of filling
(brown - oil, green - freezing liquid, yellow - fuel, blue - air, red - smother device).

Yes is a nice vehicle but the kit is very poor . so Iam rebuilding it to make it right.
Actually Oliver (bison126) made a very nice one ,that one got me going , but when I saw the kit.................... some work had to be done.

The horn isnt on the vehicle but in the vehicle. It may be somewhere in front of the driver behind the
dashboard. I dont know exactly how does it look like because it works without servicing.
It wasnt used for warning (like horn in car) but for giving information to the crew of the vehicle ( start a engine, drive - away, reverse,...).
