Could a guy go about using Future for water?

How would he do it?

Why not, cosidering that its uses are almost infinite? The only one problem is, in my view, the quantity you have to use, because it's water based...

I mean using it for stuff like puddles? You could coat the bottom with some kind of clear paint to "seal" the ground against the future. Then pour the future in couldn't you?

I think that it can work. The problem is not to seal the puddle bottom, but how deep the water has to be. When dried future loses over 70% in volume, but if it's only for a puddle you probably have to puor it in a couple of times beforse you get yor pudlle filled.

Ditto, scoccia. The volume loss is one of the more difficult aspects about using Future to "build" something, rather than just cover it in gloss. Still, puddles should be alright.

Yep, and the ideal sealant would be . . . . Future!

I wonder what would happen then if we boiled or heated future to evaporate the water content? This in theory could leave us with a thicker future which would be easier to use for water effect. My only concern is that they maybe fumes?
Perhaps if anyone has a camping stove (i dont unfortunately) they would be prepared to try this OUTSIDE and taking the necessary precautions and let us know?
Whats every ones thoughts on this?

I woul;dn;t try to use Future for anything other than wet spots and very shallow puddles. GO with a two part clear epoxy instead. THe right tool for the job always works best.

You can also use casting resin or Realistic Water from Woodland Scenics. Using Future for more than just a couple of thin layers may be more trouble than it is worth.

That stuff from Woodland Scenics is pretty good stuff, easy and inexpensive, future would be great to show a wet sidewalk/hardstand road though. Put it on top of your troops helmets and vehicles might work too, have to try that some time

You guys are right. I have used Future, evaporation is main problem, no depth but for puddles or wet surfaces should be OK.
