I recieved a 1/35 Italeri Tiger 1 (Sicily/Tunisia version) and I want to build a diorama for the guy that gave it to me. Although I just want to use the tank, and no other vehicles. I am a little stumped for ideas at the time. Let me know what your thinking.

Chip-
what look are you trying for?
A vehicle alone in a field? An urban setting? In ruins? Will there be figures? Action? (at rest or in combat?)
I built a diorama with a DML Panther A (early) in Italy. The scene had the Panther parked in front of a bombed out Italian farm house. Pretty simple but conveys the location and time with the feeling action is about to happen.
Try drawing the ideas on paper moving the Tiger with the background until you get what your mind likes. Best of luck.

How about this? Ever see the movie The Big Red One? There is one segment where the squad is in Sicily and under fire from a German SP hidden inside a house. Maybe you'd could model your Tiger 1 hidden inside a ruined building of some kind.

Here is what I'm envisioning for a Tiger.
I see an ETO late a lone Tiger Hiding in wait for the US advance. The Tiger has got some tree limb camo attached. Its behind/next to a tree with some good shrubs around it. Grass base with the big deep ruts from the weight.
You can put in some small wild flowers in and around the shrubs to offset the bruatlity of what they're about to do. Toss in a song bird perched on a limb.
Hatches closed.
Title it 'calm before the storm' ,'Tiger in waiting',
Or you could do one with the Tiger and the engine bay open with some obvious problems and or a GI checking out an abandoned Tiger - Title 'Got'a Tiger by the Tail'
