Hello Kursad

Never seen any of your work before, but this is an eyecatcher 4 sure!! Great project and nice updates this far, looks like nice clean builds. I will lay my eye on this one and follow it closely. Can't wait for the next update. But I know scratching is a time consuming object

Good luck and keep it up

I think Gino has presented one of the subjects a lot of us have been wanting for a long time.
I don't think getting an 109 or 3d pic would be hard at all. The Paladin is in need of a buddy. If Trumpeter, Hobby Boss or one of the other Co are going to take their time making what we want then I guess we have to look elsewhere.

http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/cv/eng/M992.html has some good line drawings of M992s.

OK, I am drawing the FAASV superstructure. I will need some dimensions from an M109 kit to correctly scale it; and I will post the final result as a PDF file here so anyone can use to get laser-cut parts for use as the basis of a conversion. I will open a new thread for this effort in order to keep this thread focused on my T155 conversion.

I made some more progress on the T-155 build; but things have been hectic at work and home, so I was not able to update the thread with photos. I will add more photos soon. It looks like this project will take a while, as I keep discovering differences between the Turkish version and the Korean "original". My latest worry are the totally different road and idler wheels..

It looks like some Korean companies have update sets for the K-9 kits. The one below is from MK1, and it looks like it might provide a solution for the overscale turret bins. It looks extremely fiddly, though:

I missed your updated replies and the possibility of making M992A1 FAASV plans. I actually have some in the works with another modeler too. We'll see who can come up with them first then compare them. Let me know if you still need dimensions off the M109 kit, I have a few I can measure up.

Construction continues: The turret cupolas differ greatly between the K9 and T155, so it was not possible to use the kit parts on the Turkish vehicle. I calculated the cupola dimensions to be identical to the one used on the M113, so I used a Tamiya M113 cupola base (a leftover from my ATILGAN Stinger Air Defense Vehicle project ). I built a new hatch & hinges, reconfigured the vision blocks, and used an M2 pintle from an M48 kit. The M2 machine gun is from the kit, and the ammo box base is from an Eduard set.

Unlike the K9, T155 has two rows of Wegmann smoke grenade launchers in front of the turret. These are mounted on two vertical rails with small "ledges" on them, so I constructed these rails using Evergreen styrene strip. I used Lion Roar's excellent "Modern German AFV Smoke Launchers" set for the launchers themselves.

Slow ;-). Note that I am not attempting a full conversion, I will just prepare and distribute a set of drawings for the main body so folks who are interested in the FAASV can get the parts laser-cut and use it as a basis..

This is really a great build so far. I'm really eager to it finished with some paint on it.
Never heard of this Korean PE maker, is it good and how would you rate it price wise ?
