Does he have to be prone?
Warriors' do one kneeling: http://www.usarmymodels.com/MANUFACTURERS/WarriorsScaleModels/warriors35231.html
Alternatively, Tamiya's "U.S. Infantry West European Theater" features a prone infantryman lining up to take a shot. Apart from a scope, I don't recall US sharpshooters (or those from any other nation for that matter) having any distinctive kit during WWII.

The only other US soldier prone and firing a garand I can think of is by Verlinden. I think its titled "Cornered" or something along those lines. Problem will lie in placing a new M1 in the GI's hands. There was another company with a Bar gunner and other GI firing an M1 but can't recall the company. www.usarmymodels.com can help with reviews and other possiblities.

Dragon's latest Tarawa kit has a prone soldier with a Garand rifle and he can be modeled into grabbing his gun with both hands but he's not aiming.
