Any one have any info on the mounts and power source for the search lights taken from M48 Tanks and mounted to the beds of M151 Jeeps as used in Vietnam?

TIA

Hi Santiago

Great subject! I was thinking of doing one myself a while back:

Maybe these are of some help:

Just to be clear, the searchlights were not taken from M48A3 tanks. The lights were authorized kit for the Field Artillery Battery (Searchlight), TOE 6-558E. In 1966, the searchlight batteries in Vietnam began conversion to the AN/MSS-3 searchlight (the Xenon unit found also on later production M48A3 tank). Previously, these units had had the visual light searchlight found on earlier M48A3s.

Thanks guys, great picks for the mounts. Any idea what the power source was? Separate batteries or a mini generator? I would think that much light would require quite a bit of juice.

Thanks again for the help.
