1. I can't seem to find any pics of this. So I need those.
2. Did the SS use them in Russia? What units?
Thanks

the 250 was used EVERYWHERE, all through the war. Almost every unit had one at some point or another. it was teh scout counterpart to the 251.

Hi Chip, the majority of the Sd Kfz 250 and it's sub-variants were issued to kompanies of Aufklarungs ( Recon ) Abteilungen from panzer & panzergrenadier divisions. The 250/4 and /5, used for observation were usually attached to sturmgeschutze batteries and the Sd Kfz 250/6 Ausf A & B leichte Munitionpanzerwagen carried the 7.5cm rounds of ammo for their respected StuG ausfuhrungs. In all there were 12 sub-varaints of the Sd Kfz 250 and they each had a "speacial purpose". ( Sd Kfz is the abbreviation for " SONDERKRAFTFAHRZEUG " which means "special purpose motor vehicle " )
The Sd Kfz 250/7 and /8 were issued to a platoon in the leichter ( light ) Panzer Aufklarung Kompanies and the /9 /10 and /11 usually went to Aufklarung platoon CO's. These vehicle's provided heavy fire support when in action
