I'm building an M8 Grayhound (Tamiya 1:35) and will be putting it on a muddy road base.
It comes with one figure holding binoculars.
I'm having a heck of a time finding some other figures to go along with it. I can't seem to find the right search terms or something and the local hobby shop with figures had nothing suitable.
So I'm coming to you!
This is a recon vehicle so I want a couple guys to put on the roadside like they are checking out the area. I'll put the binocular guy standing up in the passenger side because I left that hatch open.
THANKS!

Hi
If I was doing it I'd probably use the scene to add the two latest Alpine Miniatures figures into the diorama.
I think they would look great along with the M8 but maybe not quite in the context you envisaged.

Nice figs - but you're right about context.
I'm thinking more of guys that are alert and looking for danger
Without great coats.
The fig I already have isn't in cold weather gear.

Scott,
How about the Dragon US Armored Infantry Gen2 figures? You might be able to tweak them to fit your scene.
Good luck!

No problem. I've been thinking about picking up that set myself.

Depending on the time frame your thinking about for your dio, Dragon's US 1st Army at Remagen 1945' set might be useful as well.

The only two dedicated figures are the Legend productions set. Two figures positioned in the turret. I've been dealing with the same problem. I have the figures from Dragon's 101st airborne Bastogne set, and I was thinking of the tank riders from Dragon. There just aren't enough US (or allied for that matter) figures, and even less for allied/US softskins. For the variety of poses, the most recent set of Tamiya infantry figures would look nice is an action setting. You just wouldn't have the full crew for the M8.

I'm not necessarily going for historical accuracy. I'm after a particular look.
And I'm trying my hand at a base for the first time.

Hi, all.
It seems to me that the guy with binoculars suggests that the focus of attention is at some distance, well off the immediate scene. I was going to suggest the Remagen set as well as Dragon's Tank Crew 6054 with M1 helmets...
Good luck!
John
