i always have trouble determining what is a winter uniform vs summer uniform for the us soldiers

could this soldier set be used in a winter scene or is it summer

It's probably more summer than winter, but that's not say it can't be used for the latter.

They'd be cold, as the 1941 Parsons jacket was not fully lined and wasn't especially weather proof (which is why the M1943 uniform was superseding it by 1944). US uniforms were based on the layering principle, and a man could wear a shirt, or a shirt and a jacket, or a shirt and a jacket and an overcoat, etc. That's why you don't see specific winter uniforms, except for specialty troops, like mountain troops, who got a special anorak.

i am planning on using the guy laying down as a sniper. i was hoping to put a little snow around him, but its ok if i cant.
