Looks pretty good. The slat armor on the Armored version looks pretty nice. It looks to be in plastic. That could be interesting for future kits. Maybe we will see some plastic slat armor for other vehicles soon.

Both vehicles look very nice. And the pics are very clear and show the small details well.
I guess they solved the problem of making plastic slat. We now have this one and the Challenget II and Hobbyboss' Leopard with slat... and this guy Miao(miaonowitzki) from China said they were working on a Stryker with plastic slat. Great news indeed!
I hope we see all these great kits, and more, in 2010.

Thank you (and Trumpeter) very much for the update!
Long awaited and most wanted. These will be "big-sellers", I think. (and I hope)
The images are very clean and as I see, the details are better than in my SKIF-kit.
greetings...

That slat armor looks great. There are two more models I'll have to have in the upcoming year...

Ditto to what Gino said about the slat armour. Hopefully the start of plastic slat.
Both kits look rather nice. The Bmp with the additional armour looks something I think they will look pritty neat and I'l add them too the stash eventually . It's great to see Trumpter evolving so well and producing some fantastic modern kits. I wonder if Dragon will ever learn .

I think...and only a maybe...the UAE purchsed the add-on armour packages....but they are stored away. If they didn't then I think the version with the add-on armour never is only a demonstration version.

I want the one with the blocks on it. That is way cool. And if that slat armor really is PE I'll probably jump off a cliff.

Looks like some really nice details on these kits. The armour is especially interesting.
Thanks for the update

Aside from "sometime" in 2010, have Trumpeter actually put this on release calendar at all?

I still don't "get" trumpy's choice of subjects. The BMP-3 is barely in production and at best there are only a few hundred out there.
The BMP-1 revolutionized mechanized warfare and there are thousands all over the globe. It has an extensive combat history as well.
When is someone going to release a new-tool 1/35 BMP-1?

Unless Trumpeter "Surprises" us with them (which they are not big on), they aren't on the books for release before May. I have the new release schedule for Trumpeter up to and including April, and the BMPs, nor the T-62M, or LAVIII are on them.

It looks like they put in link-to-link or link and length tracks here. The end connectors are too well defined for vinyl as are the guide horns. Someone correct me if I am mistaken

Just an update.....T-62M is slated for a May release, along with the CDN LAVIII TUA.
But still nothing on any of the BMPs

I couldn't agree more. While I am always happy to see new modern armor releases, I'd really cough up the nickels for a nicely done and accurate BMP-1.
I guess I'll just keep the fingers crossed.

00364 release at May 2010
May 2010 out the factory door, so that means probably a June release here in North America.
And yes.....a sweet BMP 1, likely a 2011 release?

It seems that my Dragon's BMP1 will go to the bins soon.
I hopes that this new kit will have turned barrel (a two plastic parts barrel is a nightmare to fill).
