I have noticed that on many Eroupian dios with rail road section that the rails end on the same tie. Is this how they would put them together in Eroupe or just a simple mistake. I see in the U.S. that the rails are staggered so they are not opposite if each other.

I just broached this with Grave_Digger in his ACUTR thread. I pointed out the exact same thing. He has two ties, side to side and but joints across from each other, rail-wise.
I wondered the same thing. I told him to cut one of the ties off and slide one of the rails to stagger them.

Kind of what I thought but then again I've been proven wrong across the pond on a few things done different. Just was'nt sure how they were done over in Eroupe. Wanted to make sure before I add glue.

Well guys, sorry that pictures are not very good quality, just taken from my WWII reference pictures. This is the most used and most shown way in my books. I have also seen the way you are have mentioned, but quiet hard to find it in my references I just kept my build in the most common direction, with double tie in the connection spot
If you want more pictures , let me know

Thanks libor! Being an enthusiast of American Rail makes me no expert on European rail, so, the clarification helps. Thanks for the pictures.
I never meant to give you the impression I thought you were wrong, I was, as Bob is, hoping to get some education on the subject.
I feel smarter!

Here in the UK, the joins were opposite each other so, usually, they they would end in between two ties. In the days before continuously welded track came along, track sections were, generally, made in lengths of 60 feet.

Cuhail, no problem mate, pleasure to bring the light into that. Actually for the criticism I public my work at Czech forum, because my countrymen have it from the nature, to be criticizing But it has also the good part of it, which makes you do things better and right. In general I would not do anything on my dio without checking my references first If I am real stickler you can see in my BR86 build topic

Thanks guys. Really had me stumped cause when I tried to google it I got no-where. I like to make sure as much as possible is correct before doing it on my dio's. I will go with the side by side as you have libor. Thanks again.
