Thank you Jim for the review!

First and foremost: Aye aye Sir, lesson learned, for the text of the next book we will find another translator / proof-reader (I'm not able to do it even in Hungarian - if I know the text my mind reads not the printed characters but the meaning of them, jumping over the mistakes.) I apologize to anybody who feels that his language was crucified.

But for ordering a beer in Hungarian I'm willingly offer my help, I hope I can do it for you soon!

OK, some addendum and some teaser.

László experimented a bit with stone walls, but as the technique was not perfected for the printing deadline, it was omited from the book. The stone wall was made of clay (normal, not the airclay) the same way as it is in the book. The colors came from fine pastel and pigments dissolved in turpentine. But to make the mortar between the stones more emphasized, after painting and drying it has got a layer of acrylic lacquer (simple one from spraycan). When it dried the gaps were filled with watery gypsum. Let it dry a bit and then wipe away the excess with a wet sponge. The acrylic layer protects the clay from being wet again and to some extent the colours too, but you may need to retouch them a bit.

The next few images are very-very WIP (pre-alpha stage in software development), for the next volume. You can guess what the rock is made of?

Merry Christmas to all the visitors of Armorama!

Jim and I arm wrestled to see who would review this book and Jim won
There are a couple of books that are a must have for Dio builders such as Shep Paine's and Roy Porter's and I would rank this alongside them. I look forward to seeing the next volume.

László, so far I have totally enjoyed your book. I also agree with Jim on the language barrier but I was able to understand all your descriptions and info quite well.
I have to say though you had me worried when right off the bat, in the title there should have been an "a" to make it "Lets build a diorama".
I did not realize when I bought it that it was going to be a series, I hope by the time the next edition comes out you can find an American supplier.

My guess for the rockwork is foam like the stuff in a couch. ??? Pat

Thanks Pat,

For the language: I'm happy and disappointed at the same time. Happy, because it means that the cons came from an outside source and that we can remedy. Disappointed because even if we can solve it for the next volume, this one will not be as good as it could be (except of course if there will be a second edition.)

For the rock: sorry, don't win!

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing to be dissapointed or worried about. What you presented in the first book was perfectly clear and, as I said in the Review, the impressive layout of the book made for very easy reading and use.

Once you have the english edition written, i'm MORE than happy to proof-read for you. Please though, nothing in Hungarian!

I ordered (it came promptly) and read your book and really like the pictures and descriptions. Yes, the English translation could be better but I was always able to figure out what you meant. I kept reminding myself the I can't even begin to read let alone write in Hungarian so kudos to you guys for putting out this book. Keep them coming!

I just got this book, it is indeed excellent but, as Jim very tactfully said in his review, the English text is a bit weird. Some sentences are barely understandable.

Just one excerpt to give you an idea : "If we finished with the walls, glue them together using glass glue, mounting them by a rectangular during drying".

But don't let that deter you from buying this book, it's a must have if you like dioramas.

Cheers,

Christophe

First of all Happy New Year to everybody!

Pat, the rock is made of charcoal with some surface treatment to make it possible to paint.

Nem akarom azt a bizonyos ördögöt a falra festeni, de sajnos elég komoly veszély fenyegeti a folytatást

I have the first book and absolutely think it has beenm done exceptionally well. You are very gifted and artistic. I understood the information clearly and I actually very much enjoyed the translation too. . .however. . .

I have experience in proof-reading, and I offer my service . . . . .
