Guys:
I want to have some pine trees(although any tree would do) "packed" not sprinkled with snow., I know you use plaster but how do you apply it. Do you use a butter knife, just drop it on, dip it .-what?

I sprayed hairspray on the tree, then sprinkled baby powder on, and then sprayed more hairspray on that. It looked pretty packed.

I would use a butter knife to apply the plaster if thats the way you want to go.

I have never done it but I were to try it, this is how I would do it.

1. Mix the plaster with water and some white glue for the added stickiness. The consistency of the plaster I think would need to be a bit thin to make it flow better.
2. Apply the plaster with a spoon. Easy to scoop and pour on the tree.

I use the Busch snow for my packed snow. Busch is a german brand and they have a great line of Railroad stuff wich the snow is one of their articles.
The stuff works like some kind of plaster. You mix it with water and you can apply it with a brush after that this is a really easy way to apply packed snow and the Busch stuff really looks good

Just one adition to the plaster technique: after itīs dried, add hair spray and sprinkle baking soda over it. You get tiny sparkling in the surface.
Couple of shots of the plaster(or wall putty) plus soda technique:
