Hi folks

Looking to find any 0.50 Cal machine gun in 1/24 scale to plus anything close to the gun in the front passenger seat of this MB Wolf. Hopefully someone knows the type and can put me right to the size and shape of it so I can maybe scratch up a copy.

Looking to trade or buy the 0.50 Cal on its own if poss.

I know there was a site that had most makes of rifles and machine guns on it and there was a way of producing a version of any machine gun designed from a pick and choose parts list. People had pics of their fave rifles and guns as avatars.

Looking to pull the info and parts together in early prep for the possible special forces campain.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Nige

This looks like a really great build - I hope you'll keep us posted. The weapon in the front seat is the Mk 48 light machine gun. I wish I could tell you more than that ---

Cheers!

Are you sure thats a Mk.48 LMG? It looks kinda hard to tell from one photo, but what do i know. Well the mk48 is used by special forces and this Wolf does looks "special"

Yeah, Im pretty sure... I'll try posting a link to a great photo...

http://www.americanspecialops.com/special-ops-weapons/m249.php

It's a variant of the M249, and it's shown at the bottom of the page.

Thanks John and Calvin

Something to base my search on for now. If I can't buy one I may have to try and scratch a 0.50 Cal aswell. Will look for some tech drawings.

Cheers

Hi John, thanks for the info, i knew that was a american Mg , just didnt know which one it was. I was thinking along the lines of a m240 or m249. Thanks for the website as well, its gonna be really useful to me for later projects.Onto the vehicle, is this particular one used by German or American special forces? Ive read that the U.S used some of them as a IFAV.
P.S Nige, sorry for hijacking the post, I think theres a guy on here by the name of sam? He makes 1/24 parts for models. Im not sure of his certain callsign but i think he'll find this thread sooner or later. If not hasegawa's .50 cal may do it.

Hi Calvin

Nae problems adding to the thread. I never consider it as highjacking. Lots of other information that is usueful to me can suddenly sprout from the spin-offs.

Like this link.

Have a trawl through this and you will see who uses what G waggon, currently running to 10 pages of some very sexy light patrol vehicles.

If you are looking to do something a bit sexy with the Revell kit the Cypriot National Special purpose vechicle "Onisilos" on page 3 uses the short wheelbase version and three Spandau like machine guns.

Note also it is right hand drive just to make things individual. A very easy conversion and funky camo colour.

One of the Hasegawa Jeeps comes with a .50 cal, though it is not the greatest. I plan on using it for Tamiya's 25th scale Centurion.

I also have the Esci G-wago and would like to convert it to a military variant, so let us know how your sourcing of 1/24 scale parts goes.

I'm surprised someone isn't resin casting the guns from the Tokyo Marui M1A2 kits. They are 1/24 scale. Also, at one time, Marui was selling just the spare parts for poor saps like me who lost theirs. You might also search under VStanks. There was a Leopard 2 in the series that might yield some useful parts.

The only one that I have seen is this one from Hasegawa

why not use the 1/35 revell wolf? that way you don't need to scratch build the weapons.
