It is weathered but very very subtled. I'm waiting until I put it on a diorama before I give it a heavy dose.

Another fine "one step further" creation Charles. Love those rockets. Have you the biggest spares bin in history, or where do you get all these parts from? Where do you get all building materials from ..... mail order? I know you live near stockholm, so thats why Im asking. I live near Arlanda.

Thanks guys. Plasticbattle, Most of the parts I are from other kit's that I have built combined with some scatchbuilding. I usually test the parts out moving them around on the model in diffferent positions to see if they fit they look the part. So you live near Arlanda then? Let's keep in touch so we can talk. I'll send you my number through your private messages on this site. Please let me know when you get it.

Jeffery, the model does not exist but the idea is not far fetched. The concept is taken from the existing Hummer AGM 78 launcherWhich I had modeled beofre, and a tank-based missle launcher from a foriegn country(don't remember the country). I simply just used a M113 for this version. That is the only difference. So something like this could exist.

Thanks Darkstar. It's 1/35. I used kitbashing and scratcbuilding to get the model you see. There arer't any 1/35 scale patriot models that I know of. I had done a lot of searching before being forced to build one myself from scratch.

I used www.fas.org as the main source as well as seaching the net with the help of google in picture mode.

Ti: there is a 1/35 kit, NIMIX out of spain. They have made this kit for many years and I have heard it is a good kit but it also runs about US$150 or so. They also make the Prime Mover, the Radar, and the control "cabin".

Nice work though...better than bolt counting!

well, they sure don't advertise well. $150? wow it must be a darn good kit. Do you have a home page to them? Do they still have the kits?

Look under NIMIX. As for the parent company, they do not have a website...best I can offer is a snail mail address:

Thanks. I found the link and the model and boy what a price - $149. Aaah well. I think I am happy with both mine. BTW, I saw that hobby fan has a model that I am woking on at the moment it's called M167A1 Vulcan Cannon Air Defence System. Again, what a price. I think I'll continue to build my own.

Yeah, the price tags on those kits are rather steep. You may want to get in touch with NIMIX by mail as they offer the kits at a lower price, expecialy if your currency is doing well against the Spanish currency. It is usually the Shipping and Handeling that is high (25% to ship to the USA!)

And there are many companies that have built the Vulcan. Academy makes the best plastic kit, for around US$32. Italeri also did a M163, but it is not as good. In resin, there is a conversion from Verlinden for the IDF version, and of course the Hobby fan one.

Also, another company, I am not sure, did a Vulcan on a pull-behind trailer.

And I have seen your work on other websites before...very nicely done. As I am sure most tell you, some of the items you have are rather "interesting", but for the most, you have an excellent grasp of "what may be".

I believe the towed Vulcan was done by Hobby Fan...

Well, I'm in the process of kitbashing and scratchbuilding the M167 vulcan at this very moment. Will post a pic when it's done. Very soon. So far it looks good. I can't justify spending so much for a piece of kit. Of course one would have to special order it because no dealer will take it in because of the cost.
