I'm planing to build my first Stryker, and have AFV's M1126 on order, so now I'm wondering if there is anything I should know about this kit. And if there is any aftermarket sets that I absolutly should get? Have also on order AFV's upgrade and Black Dogs interior.
Thankful for input on the subject.

It depends on what vehicle you are trying to model. Anything in-country or in-training you should be fine with the M1126 kit. An Iraq or Afghanistan vehicle requires the whole slat armor package which is a LOT of extra AM components. There are really so many various AM sets out there that you have to be more specific on what you are trying to replicate and what you are looking to replace/detail.

I have built the Trumpeter kit, and I have the AFV club stryker with the 105 cannon mounted on it...THE MGS. I really dont know what to say except that as the trumpeter kit was very nice and not too difficult to build...I cant expect the afv kit to be any less. Afv makes a nice model...and how different can a stryker be between kits? If you want your stryker to look like its actively serving in iraq or afghanistan...Id consider getting the bar armor for it. But its a bit on the expensive side.
As for aftermarket sets...the choice is really up to you. Its your model, I would say do whatever makes you happy.

You can check out my review of this kit. I did the review before any of the aftermarket kits came out. As always, it depends on what you want to accomplish. If you need to do slat, there are at least 3 different kits - Eduard, Voyager, or Pro Art. Eduard has several other kits as far as update kits or extra detail such as straps and whatnot. But the basic kit is pretty good out of the box. Real Model also has some Stryker stuff, like MOLLE packs and razor wire...
One detail many folks add to the kit is the ant skid surface. On the Stryker it seems to be finer than that on the Abrams.
There was a thread about a year ago that concentrated on all the detail sets and improvements that could be made.
