Hi at all,
Verlinden has released a new Figure set. This time itīs an AFV crew.
Here is the link: http://www.verlindenonline.com/store/1-35-us-afv-crew-vietnam-set-i-item-2554.html
There are mostly old parts mixed. Only new for me are the two heads at right and the arms from the far right one. But i think they look good and will be a nice addition for an M-60 tank.
Greetings
Stefan

WHOA! Verlinden, learn some flag etiquette and history!
First, that's a 48 star flag and was outdated by the escalation in Vietnam.
Second
"The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
"The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general.
"When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object
"When on display, the flag is accorded the place of honor,
"Never place anything on the U.S. flag"
That said, the guy sitting on the flag and sand bagshas his hands posed in a rather useless and goofy manner.

Nicely done model, but I agree with Al about the flag buisiness. Maybe the guy should be sitting on top of Verlinden instead.................Al V

Not really state of the art are they? They look like '70s fare warmed over to me.
With the "Young Turk" companies like Bravo 6 pushing the envelope, it's a pity Verlinden don't seem bothered about rising to the challenge.
I have a Sheridan and an M-48 in the stash, but I won't be crewing them with these guys.
A very lacklustre release.

They look okay to me. I have too agree with Al on the goofy manner of the guy by the search light. If you look closely they are not new figures just made up of old parts AGAIN .
Still a good set and I would buy them

Yea, youre right Matt. No need to over react, but that is still the flag of my country and I think that maybe they could have displayed it a little differently...........Al

Al,
I totally agree with you. In whatever respect, the way that flag is displayed is an insult model or not, and especially to veterans who fought for that flag.

I would not spend my money on that set, like jaymes said, its a build up off old parts.
The guy by the searchlight looks like he was holding a tankround off some sort
No, A sure waist of money, look at bravo 6 and then at them again,...........
Ill pass..............

What a shame, another disappointing Verlinden release. Whatever happened to Verlinden, anyway? I remember when they were really something. Somehow, they seem to have lost their way.

It's not such a bad set IMHO, recycled parts or not (the only parts recycled I immediately recognize is the sitting figure). Other than the useless sitting figure, I think it'll be useful. Now if they would only re-release their original Vietnam crew, which had the driver figure...
