I was reading an article somewhere about a company making US Pioneer tools with the tie-downs molded on. Im being lazy and want to power-build a few Shermans to practice my painting and I dont want to get bogged down with PE tie-downs. I know, Im a lazy bum but I still want them to look good.
Thanks

Thanks! I ordered a couple of those bad boys! Now if I could only get a couple of frets of just light brush guards...like 20 of them or so...Im a bit heavy handed with etch...

There's always the option of paying someone to build you a decent collection of PE tie downs. Buy them a fret or two of ABER tie downs and just pay for labour. You keep the quality without the frustration.

Oooh...that really would be cheating. I should just suck it up and practice practice practice.

Cheating is definitely allowed when it comes to PE clamps. If I was in charge of torturing people, I would just force them to assemble PE clamps. They'd go mad within an hour or two.

The Formations set of tools is great, I just used another one on my M36B1. Just be very careful when getting them off the backing, I use a razor saw. They break easily otherwise. The attachment between the tool and the backing i take off in very small bits with an exacto.
I use the Fine Molds generic US (mostly Sherman) PE-Set. Also used it on the M36B1. It has enough PE for 2 Shermans.
Cheerio!

David,
Eduard "Zoom" makes a just sherman light brush guards...so you can get those..
Then if you have any of the Tasca shermans, they have a part in there that is a former for the guards. If you dont have a tasca sherman (you should get one!) ask around here and im sure somebody has multiple kits that can send you one of the forms.
ill second what Dangeroo said on removing the formations tools. Use a saw, thinest one you have. Also pay attention as they provide you with some "early" and "late" mounts for the tank bar, plus left/right mount for the sledge.
