Hopefully someone has seen or built the Real MOdels #35079 trailer. It's a flatbed. Question I have is would this match up better with the Real Models #35059 M-54 tractor (5 ton) or the Tank Workshop #0094 M-123c tractor (10 ton)? Still trying to put together a tractor trailer combo. Already have the Tamiya Dragon Wagon. I don't have the experience or the necessary resurces to toatlly build a trailer from scratch.

I believe the M54 and the M123c were devoloped after WWII. I also believe the flatbed trailer you're talking about was used during WWII.
I would think that something like DES model's kit of the Autocar U-7144T or the Federal 4X4 would be better suited with that trailer.

those tractors are too ugly to even consider.(in my opinion) Is there anything out there that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I can hook up to the M-54 or M123c? On the other hand, a flatbed is a flatbed. So, would it hook up to either of the Tractors? I mean physically hook up and which tractor, or both? I'm not going to worry about absolute historical accuracy here. I want to build one of that style of tractor and I want to put a trailer behind it. I know real models makes a trailer for the M-54 but it is $22 more

If you are not going to use the trailer M15 from the Tamiya "Dragon Wagon", how about using Real Models kit # 35081 conversion set to make the M15A1? The kit costs around $30 - $40. I almost certain that it will hook onto the M123c.
What you really need is to wait for or ask our resident Gunnie! He'll be here soon enough. I'm sure he'll know alot more than I on this subject.

I plan to keep it with the dragon wagon. Searched ebay for a cheap set. Found that old Peerless max, unfortuneatly a collector hopped onto that one jacking the price up over the Tamiya version. Anyway, hope someone can advise whether or not the flatbed will physically work with either of the later version trucks.

If you want to use the flat bed trailer then I suggest that you use it with the M-54. The M-123 is a ten ton heavy hauler. Not knowing what the trailer kit looks like, the only thing that may be off is the size of the trailer tires. This could be fixed with a set of M-925 series tires or even a set of M-35 series.

Thanks animal. I found another one of those Peerless MAx Dragon wagons real cheap on Ebay, so we'll see how the bidding goes. Then the decision as to which tractor to get (there is a set of wheels out there for the Dragon wagon, and big foot so could go 10 ton on the flatbed ) I was concerned cause it had a pretty noticable goose neck and with no good reference picture other than the box top of built kit have no perspective on wheels. But I figured to get a M54 with it, now who knows I really do like that monster M-123

The Real Models flatbed you mentioned is meant for the WW II Federal/Autocar Tractor. Neither a M54 or M123 would be appropriate to mate with it.
There aren't a lot of mass-produced, or garage-produced, 1:35th trailers out there to choose from though. If you can get the Peerless MAX item, then you could scavenge it for parts (axles, wheels, etc) to make your own without a lot of headache - even modeling a "gooseneck".
If you post a little more in the way of what you have in mind, I'll set aside my new gun truck miniature to dig out photos and ideas to help you build it!

Gunnie, I'm just looking for something to hook up to a (prefered) M-123c or an M-54. Don't have a whole lot of money to spend. I've got the Tamiya dragon wagon, but plan to build that complete. So what I've seen on the internet is a M15a1 for well over a hundred and a unknown type traier for the M-54 at $65. Then there is that low-boy flat bed for $42. I'm not real talented when it comes to scratch. I can kit bash with some modifications that I can scratch. But lack tools and knowhow to go at something as complicated as building a total trailer from scratch. You and I both know that the Army will use what is available sometimes, so to say that the trailer was never used.in conjunction with the tractor....... the question I have is if anyone has built it, and could I modify it if necessary to fit on an M-123. Of course the point becomes moot if this recent Ebay find doesn't go through the roof as the previous one did
