Here is the start of my model entry for 2010 NOREASTCON show. I’m using AFV’s M1126 and Eduards slat armor etch set. I’m also doing a full scratch built interior.

Side panels cut and surface detail will be removed and sanded.

Upper rear hull cut off.

Upper rear section panels tacked on.

Interior shot

I'll post more tomorrow.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

Great start to an interesting subject. Love the conversions because they're rare and generally cannot be seen in OOB kit form

If Mothers says he's gonna build it, he will. Still waiting on the baseball field though; those ghosts are getting antsy for a pick up game! Haha!

Joe,
I am totally in awe of your scratch building skills. If this is anything like the Stryker mine plow it will be a truly inspirational build. I look forward to following the progress as you continue with it
On a side note, were you at all familiar with Gateway Hobbies in Manhattan? It's been many years since I was there, but I remember the dioramas they had on display there very well. I wonder if anyone here might know what ever became of the store.
Once again, excellent work, but I've come to expect nothing less from your builds.

Of all Stryker variants, the MEV and Mortar Carrier versions are ones I like most. Absolutely inspiring, you got my attention. Best regards.

Thanks guys, I'll be post more soon as the project is moving along.

@Scott...Gateway Hobbies in Manhattan, I've never seen the place. I'm about 450 mile from NY City.

@Jose...The Mortar Carrier version is next on list, right after this build.

@Burik...Thanks

Joe

Here's a small update. I'd like to say thanks to Burik...Thanks Burik . Bob emailed me a few photos that helped me out that were not found in my books.

I still need to refine the work here, the washers need to be sanded thinner and nuts added on followed by adding on the brass tie down rails.

Red Cross placards, ruck sack shelves.

Ruck sack, ration shelves and tool box. They are just taped on for now.

More to follow,
Joe

Of course right after Mother starts scratch building one, Trumpeter announces they are going to do one in plastic.

Or.....maybe secretly Mother is building masters for Trumpeter!! Now we know who to blame when there are only 54 bolt heads, when there should be 55!!!

But seriously...looking good. I have this conversion in the Real Model line, just haven't gotten to it.

Looking great Mother. Can't wait to see the interior all done up. I just recently got the Black Dog interior set off eBay at a good price. You could probably use quite a bit of it to do the MedEvac interior. You could at least use the inner walls and driver's station. Either way, I'm sure it will look awesome.

Thanks guys

Thanks Miloslav, can't believe I missed that angle. With all the reference and I did a drawing and still missed it. Oh well I need to remove a small section and repair it.

Gino what price did you get it at.

Charles...bring it on I say, dude your work is inspirational.

Happy Modeling,
Joe

I got my interior from him as well. I also got a plethora of challenger 2 parts and M1078. Shipping takes about 2 weeks but I'm assuming Chinese customs are like a clamp on the nuts. He's a good person to work with.
