taking it that you are young and even if older it is a terrific effort for a first plane particularly tackling a diorama
you can buy clear acrylic rod for mounting your aircraft to bases wich improves appearances
but overall a great effort your tidyness in painting etc will improve with practice
buy a few old toys etc from bootsales to practice painting on
doesn't mater what they are toy cars or whatever the point is to practice neetening up your painting techniques ( thats how i practiced ) re painting all my old toy cars !!

the chipped paint on the leading edge of the wing is very effective. Painting that dowel rod matt black might make it less distracting.

Looks good mate! Very nice job for first plane, i'm likin the paint chips heaps.
The shrub and grass is nice, looks very "UK".
The only thing i would change is as Paul mentioned, purch a clear plastic/acrylic rod instead of the dowel stick, and your Spitfire will look like its truly flying.
