Edward,
The basic cut of the StuG uniform was the same as that of the Panzer crew uniform; the main difference bing that while the latter was manufactured in the (now famous) black, the sturmartillery uniform was manufacturered in fieldgrey and later reed green.
Thus you can use near any Panzer crew figure, and simply paint it as a StuG crewman. And there are literally hundreds of options for Panzer troops.
That said, is there any particular pose you're looking for? And which brands have you already looked at?

No dramas. If you're looking specifically at Alpine, I've always liked "35015 German Tanker in Summer" and still plan to place one through a hatch sometime.
But yeah, continue your search - as there really are so many potential figures out there. You should also consider "kit bashing" - using components of various figures to "frankenstein" the ideal figure together.
If you're interested in picking up a few basic sculpting tips, which are also handy for minor conversions, check out Historicus Forma (Kitmaker's specialist figure site) as they have just announced a "sculpt-along" group build.

Edward,
I assume you're talking 1:35? In plastic, Miniart do a decent German SPG Riders set (a StuG crew). And I thought there was a Dragon set out there too...? Tamiya does a crew loading ammo, as well as their Tank Crew at Rest set. These are recent releases, so sculpting is good, and if you like to cross-kit then you canb get some interesting poses.

i built a Stug kit a few months ago and looked for resin figures to add to it myself. Verlinden Online make very nice resin pieces you could use. Alpine Miniatures also have some nice figures you could use. I personally went with Verlinden Online due to it being my first attempt at resin and the price i felt comfortable with. i have yet to do my planned diorama for my kit though. Keep in mind that Stug crews wore field grey uniforms cut primarily to the same cut as panzer crews. So a panzer figure would work well if painted green if you see one in a pose you like. I also have a replica SS Assault gunner jacket for reenactments if you would like a photos of for reference.

Also, remember that mid/late war StuGs were used in Pz and PzJgr units as well.

Tank from Russia has some nice Stug figures, too, as does Royal Model, I believe.
Hope this helps.

Yes, you can use this crew for a late model StuG. See my review of this set here: https://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net/review/4431
Also, if you visit Calvin Tan's site (Calvin did the box art for this set) you'll find a picture of the figure with the pup seated on the barrel of a late StuG.

Try Squadron. They keep some of the Royal Models' range.

Be sure to show us your painting of the figure

Ant,
Alpine figures are a dream to put together. I've been extremely fortunate to review a number of them over the past few years and I've never had a fitment issue. If you ever buy only one resin figure, do yourself a favour and get an Alpine figure.
And no, despite Taesung's cheque being in the mail I'm not trying to sell you on them, they sell themselves
