Can anyone give me any info on these two products? I know everyone swears by the aztek 470 but I have found this one for half the price of the 470 with instructions and 4 nozzles. Thought maybe I could buy it and still keep my wife. Info on the compressor would be great as well.
Cheers

Hi Hasty,
From what I can tell, the 430 is basically the same design as the 470, but without as many extras. No wooden case, not as many cups or nozzles. I read something that said that the ergonomics of the handle were also not as nice as the 470, but otherwise the technology is the same and the nozzles are interchangeable.
I'm not sure about the blue mini compressor. Do you know who makes it? The only advice I can offer there is that you consider a pressure regulator and/or moisture trap.
I'm pretty happy with my Aztek 470 and it's a breeze to use and clean. Note that the Aztek requires a different adapter than other airbrushes to connect it's airhose to the compressor.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Ghengis

The blue mini is made by aztek as well. I figure that the hookup should be a breeze being made by the same company.

HastyP, the A430 is a descent double action AB for the price. Like others have said, it comes with fewer tips, four I believe. It does not have the same ergonomic feel as the 470 , but it atomizes the spray as well as the 470. A nice AB altogether.
As far as the air supply goes, try to steer clear of tankless compressors. The Testors Blue Mini is such. Without an airtank you're going to experience a pulsing effect caused from the motor which carries to the sprayed paint. This effect will really be apparent in close-in detail work. From what I found the Blue Mini sells for about $100.
If I were you, I'd look at something like the one below from Coleman. It's small, has a sufficient tank, and costs only about $20 more. It even come with a regulator, and it shuts off when the tank is full, so you can paint in silence. Well worth the twenty more dollars.

I can't mention much on the airbrush, I just bought my first, a Badger 150. It's going to take some time getting used to it!!!!
I went to Home Depot and bought a Husky Air Compressor for $100. Comes with a regulator and some extra nozzels. Can hold up to 100 lbs of pressure, not that you would need that much, but the puppy does not turn on that often!
Just my .02......

hi,
I've seen the compressor in the local model shop and it looks good and sprays up to 30
psi but no air tank I had a badger table top compressor and it would only run for 20 mins
at a time and had to cool down for another 20-30 mins granted it was quiet but having the
tank makes all the difference and you can also use it round the house as well like putting
air into your tyres ect

I have a Blue Mini compressor. I love it. I live in an apartment and I can paint right in my house now.
I would get it, that or a badger compressor. Those are pretty good to.

The blue Air compressor, is flashy and not worth the price, it only goes to 35 psi...goto wallmart get the cambhell hausfield 1 gallon, compressor for $90 (in Ohio), full 93 psi air.

I used an Aztek for several years with good results. I found the nozzles to clog very very easily with acrylic paints, which I use almost exclusively....I'm an indoor painter as well....but the brush itself was good. I use a Paashe D500 compressor, which is good, but loud. If you can afford it, I would recommend a compressor with the tank, or better yet the silent ones (extremely expensive!)
Kencelot, how long can you spray on that compressor before it has to repressurize the tank? and how loud is it compared to a hobby compressor like the Paashe?

Thanks guys for the info. I just bought a 2 gallon , 2HP compressor for $99 dollars at Canadian tire. So I guess I will have to get the special adaptor for the aztek brush. Are these for sale where the brushes are sold?
