I have been reading the book "...and a hard rain fell." by John Ketwig. He worked in an Army body shop at Pleiku in 1967 -68. He writes that one status symbol for senior officers at the time was glossy paint on thier jeep. In his case he had to re-paint the jeep OD when the officer used it in the field, then re-paint it when he returned. In one case he pin-striped the finders in gold and made seat covers from ARVN Tiger-striped fatigues.
The glossy green was made by mixing 3 parts of gloss black with one part OD.
Might be an interesting idea in 35th scale.
