Hey thanks Jason, didn't realize that. I'll switch them over tomorrow!
cheers
One of the serious problems in planning against Canadian doctrine is that the Canadians do not read their manuals, nor do they feel any obligations to follow their doctrine.

Yarr, 'tis more brass than there be sty-reeen!
Nice looking yote indeed. I think someone is doing resin mast / sensor suite stowage boxes for it.

Ooo, nice! I really like those small nuts and bolts you added to the shields. Is it me, or does the GPMG seem to sit a little high?

Awesome Coyote! The PE work on this is some of the best I've seen. Cannot wait to see this one painted, Rick.
I think you might want to try something without any PE for your next build, right?

@ Chuck; I think that styrene makes up only about 20% of this build LOL.
@ Jim; Yes the ak ak looks a little high, i'll trim that down tonight.
@ Graeme; Maybe by the time I get it painted and weathered that surveillance suite and bags will be out LOL.
@ Anirudh; my next build will be straight OOB LOL.
@ Miloslav; thanks you very much, and take care
@ Emil; thanks! Let me know if you need assistance
@ Dylan; thanks, hopefully i'l get some primer and bas coat on this weekend
@ Anthony; thanks! I'll sort that out
cheers

Got a coat of primer on tonight, almost had a disaster as I almost painted over the blast shield windows by accident
I'm using Canadian Tire Motomaster automotive primer as I find this sticks reasonably well to the brass.

Base coat going on tomorrow
cheers

Excellent work and I love the Pro Art etching set..... it looks the part!

Thanks Chris! The set from Real Models uses Eduard to supply the photo etch, I don't think ProArt makes anything for the Coyote.
We got rid of Celine Dion, its only a matter of time before we turf Justin down South permanently as well muhahahahahahahahaha!

Got the base coat on this weekend!
Started with a coat of Tamiya NATO black, I find this helps with pre-shading and if you miss a few spots with the colour coat it won't be noticed

After the black dried I layed down a coat of dark olive green.

And then followed it up with some NATO green, concentrating on the panel centres.
Once that had dried I started the detail painting of the IES, grenade launcher caps and tail lights.

cheers

Rick I've been following this from the start and great to see you've stuck with it. The colour modulation looks really smart. Also nice one with not panting the armoured glass

Hey Rick
I love the coyote, I have a question regarding the Bison. How difficult would it be to build the Bison C3I using the trumpeter LAV-R as the base? I ask this because I have this kit but I dont care to build it and I can use it as a base for the Bison. Thanks DJ

It would be about the best base kit currently available to do a Bison. However, Trumpeter at one time were planning an ASLAV-PC, which would be even better.
You'd have to rebuild the upper hull aft of the comd hatch on the LAV-R, plus all the details specific to the CP. The side hull angles of the Bison are quite different from the LAV-R.

Like Graeme said, you need to rebuild everything from the drivers hatch back., then you would nee to build all the stowage boxes, generator etc.
Not hard, you just need alot of good reference pics. I plan on building a C3I from the AEF Designs Canadian Bison conversion, should be alot of fun

cheers

Yep, reference seems to be a hard thing to come by regarding the C3I, I was not aware there was already a conversion out there, I still plan on doing the conversion myself, I've been building for over thirty years and I think I can handle this. By the way are there any references available for the C3I?

Rick, hurry up and finish already! I need to continue with my Un-Armored Coyote blog - without you taking all the attention
I really like your build, great work and added details!

The AEF Designs conversion is just a troop carrier, not the C3I unfortunately.
If you need any pics shoot me an e-mail. I think Miloslav is coming out with a Bison reference book as well.
