I'm doing that dance now. Tractor/trailer is going to be strict resin. Expensive and hard to find. Real MOdels and Tank workshop make a lot of that stuff. Duece and a halfs and 5 tons, check out Italerie and old Revell. Some of the model companies have them, some don't I think the Big foot by Italeri has been rereleased. Check out Roll MOdels and Great MOdels for the tractor trailers. If you want to see some pictures of the kits mission models shows some of the Tank workshop stuff and a bit of the Real Models.

Check out Trumpeters new Faun SLT-56 Tank Transporter.
Review on Perth Military Modelling site. Looks quite impressive.
Trumpeter have also 2 huge Chineese tractor/trailer units ... one a tank transporter and the other a missile loaded version.

Check my review of the Italeri M923A1 BigFoot truck to know what to expect. Italeri also made the M925 Shelter truck - it is the same model, just with different kind of wheels (better actually) and extra parts to add winch to the model and to build a shelter.

I think for a very short time Italeri also made a water or fuel tanker based on the same M923 model. I only saw it in some old catalogue, never in flash, so it is possible that it never actually went into production.

Review is here:

Italeri also released the M925 without the S280 shelter called the US Army Standard 5 ton Truck (#284). I've got this one with a nice engraved wooden cargo bed. Too bad the bed is actually steel plates.

Italeri also does the M977 and M978 HEMTT cargo and fueler.

Matt - I picked up the Revell AG GaZ-66 Cargo Truck for use in the T2K Campaign (also known as the campaign where GIBeregovoy is overwhelmed by US/NATO subjects). This is a nice looking kit. Revell AG's UNIMOG is also a good one. The only thing I've found in building it is that the rubber tires are pretty heavy, and the plastic a bit brittle. You can easily damage the frame/suspension when the wheels are put on it. But, it's nice otherwise.

I also have the 5-ton, 7-ton, and 10-ton MAN Cargo Trucks. These are very cool - perfect for T2K Campaign...

Why Gunnie, you sound excited by all this, even if you have GAZ to make for it...

I built a T-55A Model 1970 (Tamiya's) earlier this year - and really liked it. My first Soviet - anything! Planning to build more than one subject for T2K Campaign...

I forgot to mention the good-looking URAL 4230 cargo truck. I have Omega K's release, but I'm sure it's gone under a couple more Eastern European manufacturer tags since then. This is another to consider - I'm gonna have fun with this one...
