I finally finished the M577A1. This is the third in the M113 family of vehicles I am working on right now. I wish I had a better camera, then I could give you better pictures than these. I think the next project will be the M163A1 Vulcan or maybe I will take a break from tracks and do an M151A2 1/4 ton.

All comments are welcome :-)

The camo in the top picture looks really good, but Im afraid I cant comment on anything else. You really need bigger pictures to get a fair comment.

Delta...you and I must be on almost the same wavelength, just different polarity.

I am just finishing a M151A2 and have a M557 that I started years ago, that I plan on finishing soon! From what I can see it looks real nice!

Hey Delta ... when copying the photo name when in properties, hold the copy on and scroll down. You didnt copy the whole URL for the photo. It should always end with jpg= and a long number. Then type the whole URL into the [URL] code or into the [IMG] as I have.
Love the camo .. the colours are brilliant. Are they hand painted or is it just blurry photos or am I too tired? #:-) Great use of stowage as well.

Thanks Plasticbattle. I knew to do that, I guess I'm just tired and was experiencing a "Senior Moment". The Camo is hand painted and is not near as brilliant/vivid as they appear in the photos; just crumby pictures. Like I said, I wish I had a better camera. Thanks also for the comments.

Awsome work! Like everyone has said, really nice work on the camo pattern. You also did a really good job of filling the seam along the side. I remember that was a bear to fill. The colors look a bit glossy in a couple shots, especially the inside of the rear access door. Could be just the pictures, though.

I really like the camo job...wish the pictures were a tad more clear. What kind of camera are you using? There may be ways to improve your photos without actually buying a new camera, depending on what you have now.

Jim,

I'm using a Sony Mavica FD-7 Digital. I guess it's not really made for close up photo's, or I'm not doing the lighting properly. I welcome any suggestions on how to improve the picture taking process.

I've added some new pictures that I took outside in natural light. They seem to be clearer.

If you don't have a macro setting, move back and use the zoom feature. Use the flash if the light doesn't look good.

Try setting your model up for photos as a studio would. Either use multiple light sources, (I use three desk lamps on my work bench with a gray fabric backdrop). One of the drawbacks of most digital cameras is the inability to bounce the flash as you can with an off camera strobe.

You did the main thing I was going to suggest, moving out into better light, and Al's suggestions cover most of the rest of what I was going to recommend. One more suggestion: use a tripod (or mini-tripod) or improvise a clamp rather than hand-holding the camera to eliminate as much camera shake as you can. Since most digitals don't allow for using cable releases, use the self timer if available so as to avoid shutter button mashing.

Thanks Jim and Al. I will try all of the suggestions. As with most things, I will keeo trying different things till I become satisfied. One of my character flaws; I hate to be beaten by anything, even a camera! #:-)
