Hi all,
I have just received the Dragon 6232 KT kit from my loved ones for my birthday. I have this matched with a Firestorm KT crew and Aber KT side skirts.
Rather than the kit decals/color scheme, I would if possible love to model one of the KT's knocked out in and arouind La Gleize 211, 213, 204 etc. I have been to www.ss501panzer.com. I do realise the kit tracks may need to be changed depending on vehicle modelled.

I would really like a decal sheet to cover one of these KT's with a colour depiction to show me the layout of an "ambush" scheme. I have looked at Bison decals but could not find one. Are there any other good manufacturers of decals that may have such a sheet? I really do not want to hand paint the numbers.

I have always wanted to do an ambush scheme from the Ardennes.

Thanks in advance

Jon

Hi Jon,
Echelon Fine Decals did this set;
ECH-351001 '1/35 German Tiger II King tigers of the Schwere SS-Panzerabteilung 101'

Though you might struggle to find the set? I've not tried to get hold of it myself, but have not seen in stock anywhere either.

Thanks, I can't find that set on the Echelon website but I will try to find it on Ebay. I might also look at using one of the Archer generic number sets

I received an email from Echelon that the 1001 sets are going to be reprinted soon. I don't know how long soon is though

This is the email I received:

Hi Jon,

It will be reprinted, no idea when but hopefully soon as I'm juggling a great number of out of prints currently. But priority will be given to the 1001 set since it has been OOP for quite a long time. Hope for your kind patience.

Best regards,

Lawrence

Hi

I have the same Dragon kit and I've build number 213 out of it (La Gleize Königstiger)...you need to replace the tracks and drive sprockets if you want to depict a Battle of the Bulge KT though

anyway, I used Archer Dry Transfers for it...they got some lovely sets for the turretnumbers on the KT's of s.SS.Pz.Abt.501 and also a set of the logo's which you need to add to the glacis plate

cheers

It seems, that they only made a 250-sheets-special-edition (incl. new 104, 113, 222 from Normandy) for worldwide shipping. So minus the 5 i got yesterday, there will be 245 at the maximum left. They are the best researched coloured SS501-Numbers out there.
