and here's something to one of my favorite themes(water & planes)
showing Walrus Mk.I at the end of september'45 searching little islands in the pacific area for missing pilots and crew members...
the pilot stoped because of the propeller-part they just found on the isle...
hope you'll enjoy the pics...

I've always had a fondness for flying boats and floatplanes...and this is no exception! Excellent job! Is this 1/72 scale? And you did a phenomenal job on the water/waves! How did you do it? An epoxy?

The water effects are great. Neat Shagbat too.

I have been pondering a similar dio for a while. Except I was planning on using a Sunderland on brown water, such as a river or estuary dropping off supplies to an isolated outpost.

Now this is what diorama's are all about. To the point story, well executed build, and blended well together. One of the best water based dio's Iv'e ever seen. You must tell us how you did your water Holger. It is outstanding. Heck, my wife who models say's she thinks you got the best water she's seen too. Take it from me, that's a compliment.

hi there and thanks for your comments
to answer your questions...yes it's :72 scale. It's the former Matchbox kit now from Revell costs only 5.-€ and has definitly nothing special...but good enough to drown it in some epoxy
that answers the other question yes its clear epoxy and here you can see how i did it...

and the final part... well... I forgot to take some pictures
but its easy to explain. I took some acrylic sealant... -first the transparent one to make waves and then some white one to make some skim... the good thing on arcylic sealant is if your not happy with your work you can take it away with some water...
anyway next time I will not forget to take pictures....

This shore looks really great!
I also had the idea making an ocean-part or shore... but with a ship or sea-mine.

greetings...

Very nice wave detail. You´ve captured the water nicly. The little outcrop of land doesn´t look as good though. The face should be bare from growth .... bare rock or some sort of sandy shore. As it is, the face has the same growth as the level part has and takes away from the rest, in my opinion. Should be easily rectified though.

I agree with Frank here, the growth near the edge of the water would quickly die from the salt water being washed over it with each wave. Stunning water though!

Look at the Galopogo's island guys. Litchen grows down to the waters edge all over the shore rocks which the critters eat.

No problem there hulkster. Spent a lot of time in front of the boob tube when I was recovering. Just to make sur I don't turn into a boob myself, I usually watch discovery and history channels. P/U lots of usefull and worthless info. What was that about search overload.
