Here's a couple of pics of a vignette I'm currently working on of a Gebirgsjaeger advancing down the side of a factory building:

The original plan was simply to paint the back of the wall black but, as the base is circular, it dawned on me that I could do the 'inside' on the building so I started off with this:

Which, after a bit of work, now looks like this:

Still more clutter to add to the interior and more weathering to be done.

Unusual context ... to see a Gebirgsjaeger with an urban background. Im sure it happened, but why a Gebirgsjaeger?
Anyways ... nice little scene otherwise. Love the rust work on the pipe on the inside. Very realistic. Did you scratch the building? Nice skin tones on your figure ... there seems to be a little gap between his cap and hair?

Thanks for all the comments guys, much appreciated.

To answer your questions Frank:

but why a Gebirgsjaeger?

I'd already done this simple vignette:

so I figured I'd go a little different on this one. I did a little research and the Gebirgsjaeger were involved in fighting in towns in Russia so I figured that was reason enough

Did you scratch the building?

It's a section of the MiniArt Ruined Garage kit.

there seems to be a little gap between his cap and hair?

Good spot, hadn't noticed myself...

Nice work John and excellent job on the factory interior.
What paints/methods do you use for your figure painting?

Great work!
One thing though, his boots, wouldn't they be a bit more sunk into the mud? At the moment he doesn't look like he weighs much.

Thanks once again for the comments guys.

I'll add some more mud around his boots to give him some weight. The interior has received a bit more detailing and weathering with more to come:

More work on the upper part of the wall, I've added the retaining clips for the conduits and I decided to add a shelf:

I'm calling this one complete. Finished the internal weathering, added a bit more mud around his feet and added a propaganda poster to the internal wall:

Hi! Sorry for posting so late but I've managed to miss this thread somehow... City I live in (Krosno, Poland) was taken by First Gebirgsjaeger Division lead by Hans Kübler (September 8th 1939).
Background is 100% OK than (it may even be a wall of Krosno's glassworks, or airport (not with the poster and links on the floor ))

John, nice work! Pipe looks perfect! I love the round mark left by a can on the shelf.

Nicely done, excellent weathering and some great details
Only "minor" thing I might suggest is on the downspout, at the height it is at it might leave a stain on the brick, but I wasn't sure if it is supposed to represent that it was recently broken off or has been like that for a while. As I said "minor"
Congrats on a great Vignette,

Thanks Bob, it is supposed to have recently come off - I was going to have the remainder lying on the ground but it just didn't look right...
