Major snow storm here,so its a good time to post pictures of a new Leopard conversion I'm working on.
Its the Swedish Leopard 2A5. I'm using the Hobby Boss kit for parts and the base kit is the Tamiya Leopard model of the German Leopard 2A5/2A6. I've built the Tamiya kit last year as the Canadian Leopard 2A6m, so I familiar with the model.

Nice start Chris.
I started one of these kit bashes a while ago, and I really need to get back into it at some stage.
How did you do the 'folded up' mudflaps ?
Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,
get back at that Strv. This is good Leo conversion. For the flipped up flaps I rolled it out with a file handle. I'm not to pleased with how they turned out. I may swap it out for plastic.
Have you got to the point of rearanging the tail lights?

No not yet, I have a few projects to do first.
I tried doing the rolled up flaps with evergreen but they looked ordinary... from memory I left the flaps as they were in the end.

Nice work.
The tail light arrangement looks a bit different thou.
There should be no frame on the top part and the cut out should go to the third bar from the bottom.

Thanks, There is not anti-slip on the turret just yet. That comes after a prime coat. The only anti slip is on the smoke dischargers and the front armor on the hull. The HB raised anti slip on the rear of the turret behind the laoder and comander's hatch is sanded down.

Hi Chris,
I was only referring to the regular applied "Anti-Skid" surface applied over the whole top of the turret.
Even with the very good TAMIYA kit, I always see the need to correct/improve that feature, like on this Danish version I did some while ago.
Gonna be a little more work for you with the added top amour though.
That was all,
Cheers

Hi Chris,
to answer a question you posted at ML, here are the paint refs mentioned in the HKCW conversion
Black = XF1
Medium Green = XF26
Light Green = XF5
HKCW have released a new scheme as a pdf file, here is the link to download it
http://hkcw.tripod.com/PDF/strv122new.PDF
Strangely enough, I can't see a single picture in the first message, even the usual red Xs do not appear

Olivier, thanks for posting that pdf I'll try those colers.
Chris I see what you mean, I don't get carried away with it because its hard to get the scale right. I think Tamiya have done it best.were did you get those parts for the Danish Leo?
Jay it is Eduard PE, kit# 36028,

Bernd,
here is HKCW site. http://hkcw.tripod.com/
They have a list of retailers at the bottom of the homepage. Honestly, I fear that with the kit being currently available in plastic, they don't produce it any longer.
