Hello all,
when I was in Nuremberg on monday, I spoke with the CEO of Preiser about the possibility to release their modern US Infantry and Tankcrews also in 1:35. For those who didn`t know, Preiser has a range of modern US Infantry and Tankcrews in injection plastic. These figures are in 1980` and 1990` uniforms, Tank crews in coveralls, also reloading 120 mm rounds and seated figures for HMMWV`s trucks etc. You can see them at www.preiserfiguren.de
Tell me you opinion if these figures will be worth a try in 1:35 scale.

Best Regards from Germany

I think anything modern would be worth it.. even if it's from back in the 80's or 90's. There's a general lack of modern figures in 1/35 scale.. especially seated and at rest poses.

Of course if they can make figures for Iraq and Asghanistan, that would be even better. But I'll take wahtever I can get.

Hi Hisham,
I can of course provide Preiser with images of current US soldiers. I also spoke with the guy from Masterbox and has showed also interest in modern subjects. He told that they have enough materials for the next two years. I think we should give Masterbox some advice about there planned Iraq figures.Let`s if they call back when they`re back home

Hans due the the fact I can't read German I cannot find the figures, would you be able to put up pictures here? Regarding MiniArt, they as a general rule send pictures to the news team here for discussion purposes, and have altered sets due directly to feedback in these forums.

Another company wanting to build in 35th scale would be most welcome as the modeler would reap the reward of any effort.

I absolutely love Priesers quality.

I use their 1/72 figures to populate my Dragon Humvees.

A line of modern 1/35 scale soldiers...especially US tankers...Id be all over that.

Hi all,
to see the current range of Preiser, go to www.preiserfiguren.de, then use the left dropdown and click either
on Neuheiten (News) or Katalogdownload (Download Catalogue). Then check out their military 1:87 or 1:72
pdf`s.

I hope this helps

I think Preiser makes wonderful figures. It's a shame that more of the larger scale ones aren't more readily available... and most of what I do find are prepainted, which takes all the fun out of it... I would also love to see some more of the 80s and 90s soldiers... that was when I was in the Army

Personally I'm all for it. I've built several of the Preiser sets and depending on how much effort you are willing to put into them you can get really good results, they are not perfect but we're really lean on 1/35 injection molded modern figures. Since Persier has them in a smaller scale I would say that they should go for it, we need them!

Hans thank you for the clear instructions. Having looked at them and at the 1/35th figures they already do. I would say they will make a very nice addition to what is already available providing they don't try to upsize their current figures. One thing I did notice was how much better their female figures are, which if provided in the period specific clothing will fill a niche.

Hi Guys,
thanks for all the positive resonance! From the technical side, it should be no problem, since Preiser uses 1/10 master figures, which they just scale down to the molds. I hope I can convince Mr. Preiser to some ACU soldiers, there are already Strykers out in 1/87 and 1/72 scale. I have collected enough material on Stryker soldiers that I can offer them. But one thing, please don`t expect the figure too soon, Preiser is known to be a fast company.
I keep you posted on the progress.

What I'd like to see more are 1:35 scale versions of the Bundeswehr soldiers. They range from the useful (G3-equiped infantry) to the interesting (Military Musicians). Any chance for those?

If they are of the same quality and in a similar price range as the "Workers" set you'll have one happy customer.

Obtw: The 1/35 scale sets I have seen so far (Worker, Refugees etc) are unpainted/unassembled.
