Hi,
As we all know, the Vietnam war was a war that was positively brimming with artillery of one kind or another. Firebases up & down the country were packed with all sorts of different calibre weapons. Mortars were an integral part of the bases defences & yet mortar kits & accessories seem to be a little thin on the ground.
Does anyone know if there is a US 81mm mortar & ammo kit available on the market?
What about the 60mm mortar as this was invariably used at squad level to provide instant covering fire before a fire mission could be called in.
Thanks very much indeed in advance for all help rendered.
Joe.

Hi Joe
What about Hobby Fan's M29 kit (#HFV-531) ?
You can also take a look at this site for more mortar kits (including the M2 60mm mortar from Tamiya ) :

Hi Frenchy,
Thanks for the info. Yes, I already have this set at home, aswell as the Tamiya 60mm mortar. However, I will need 3 or 4 81mm mortars & buying the Legend kit will prove expensive! I was hoping to find a kit between Legend & Tamiya.
It seems that Vietnam topics for modellers are few & far between. You really have to put in the hours of research to find anything good!
I've also checked out mortarsinminiature. It's a great site, isn't it?
Anyway, Frenchy, thanks once again. I have no doubt that we'll talk again soon.
